throughout my people
What started as a ripple is now a tidal wave
What stared as a germ is now a flesh eating malicious disease
Spading more quickly and easier then the common cold
And its being sold
In every rap video
And each issue of vibe magazine and double XL
Man got to weight
thats step one in being a man in this hood
that how you show that you can stand in this hood
thats how you become a kingpin around these hoods

young black men Being led up to no good
pushing powder to the lady who changed your diapers
before you could stand
Selling Meth to the man who used to take you fishing
when you were just a little man
Man take a look at your neighborhood
we used to take pride in this ghetto
Now my grandma can't ride through this ghetto
We used to talk about how we would over come and give back to this ghetto
Never let another brotha fall between the cracks in this ghetto
Now your feeding the beast that devours this ghetto

Look at all these abandon buildings
potentially places where the children can go and laugh within
Without being tormented by the outside world
And you hustling
But see the property value plummets
when the streets are laced with methamphetamines
And the playgrounds are littered with needles being seen
parents can't even let there kids walk the streets in peace
All because you and some dude two streets over got beef

You don't run these streets
this is 2nd ave
its not Daquawn St or, Terrence Blvd or Teyshawn Ct
no its non of the sort
The same cars you see going up and down theses streets
Will be here tomorrow
And the day after that
And the day after that
So you modest well get over that

You want to do something constructive
How about you go get a job
Better yet go get a contracting degree
And return to the place where they call us slobs
Build something that your daughter and you son can hold on to
Be a role model for those that have no one to look up to
Then you can roll through the ghetto with your head held high
Be a real man instead of one of these mock up men
These Locked up men
This revolving door of illeimate men
We need to stop the trend

And it can only end
When we decide that we'll no longer be pawns to sin
you'll see it happen-in
It will be a contagious reaction then
redefine what hood is
And make it safe again
Make it a place where
folks anit ashame they been

Where little Charles and Tiffany Can say
yea I'm from the hood
Finish high school went to college
And now I'm doing good
no more my hood on the news for two shootings this week
From now on its like
Can you believe the Mayor came from these Streets

your commentary is incredibly accurate and raw. you take a very admirable stance regarding your hood
