now that I'm scarred for life?
Is so much as a peck on the cheek
now forever barred from me?
Am I being paranoid,
is there more to me than a face?
Or am I just more weird
even further from finding my place?
Why, in my mind, is my "place"
alligned with finding my spouse
the girl which I dream about
but may never even speak to now?
Is my ugliness really so incomparable
that every scar and pimple
makes me so much more unbearable?
Am I really a scarecrow
with a missing brain
and only a heart for impossible romance?
Really, I don't know.
I wish it could be defined and decided
so I'd at least know which ailments
to confide in my friends
why I'm nothing like them.
I just wish I'd know why I'm alone. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 188 [topic] => 32 [informant] => lost_chadow [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

I was coming on here to begin the task of sorting through tons of garbage to find a gem. Yet, the first poem I read is damn potent! Powerful and poetic!

Am I really a scarecrow
with a missing brain
and only a heart for impossible romance?

Not to deline you at all but this portion (not because I am called Scarecrow Man) is wonderful. It captures the essence of what your poetic statement is. This is such a emotive piece and a breath of fresh air considering the current state of YPDC.

Knowing why you are alone will not be answered until you are no longer alone. Perhaps that doesn't make sense to you. But every broken path is indeed a path. You will reach a point in your life where every moment of heart ache will make sense. This is not to say the cliche "one day this will all be behind you" it's mainly to say "one day what is behind will bear fruit of your future". I hope you last the moment to find this truth. Indeed what doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

BRAVO!
