Only the Lonely

Alone is what you feel
When you open your eyes,
The cold wind on your soul
Needles that you despise
When you look around
And see the road empty,
You wonder if your heart
Can be strong and sturdy
Cause true love’s path
Is desolate and unforgiving,
So long is this journey
Distances are often deceiving
Inch by inch, mile by mile
Loosing pieces of your soul,
Grains of sand on the shore
Washing away on the whole
As you stumble across
This vast stretch of dust,
Deep bruises that feel within
It’s a journey so truly unjust…
