[hometext] => For you Tina.I have never forgotten.Through tears, fears, fun, laughter, arguments, drama, hurricanes, and fire!!I truly love you!
[bodytext] => I woke up that morning With only confusion in my head Gratefull to be alive and well But still with a heavy heart How depressing That horrendous hotel wall paper But it was a place to call home If only for the moment I showered and dressed Woke my husband to do the same We ate breakfast quickly And began our day Stepped out into the morning The cold November air Expertly mimicked our feelings Grey, and bleak Walked acrross the street To check for any mail Thats when we first saw her She was tall, very tall Standing beside our friend Mo'nique As we approached The 2 women in mid conversation I realized,I really didn't know her I still remember my very first thought My God,she was beautiful! And put together very well Like a puzzle where the pieces don't come apart Intrigued by this woman I knew nothing about And moments after introductions were made I learned her name was Tina A woman I'd have never known If certain events never took place It was an apartment fire And a new beginning for us all At the time I was 21,my husband only 18 We lost everything we had Tina had just came from, The tradgedy of Katrina We all lived In the same building The one that now lay in a pile Of wood and smokey dust This angel that we didn't know Now took us under her broken wing She was the calm after the storm And never afraid of tears To me,amazing she will always be Courage of a lions' heart The mother of 3 children A warrior that never quits It's been 3 years now Over time and schedule conflicts The bond has slowly faded But the love is always there And if she were to ever read this I would want her to know 1 thing: Tina,I can fly now And I will always extend my wings to you [comments] => 1 [counter] => 277 [topic] => 31 [informant] => ki [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => StoryPoetry )
