[bodytext] => i use to see light all around me life was happy and free not a care for any but me then slowly it started shadows that lurk climbed there way into my place of mirth one dark spark after another traced its way into my life until the light i held became my twilight still there was hope and happiness too as long as the light though faded did stay it happened again, the darkness crept stealing what light that had remained now it was dark i could not see all i want was to go to sleep and maybe in dreams find that place where life and laughter still did kiss but even in dreams i found no peace my soul was screaming for its last release my hope was gone i could not think is this as far as one could sink i found my way to take the bottle clenched in my fist was the simple solution to all i had found to be in ruin the pop of the cap was what summoned the reaper dim in my vision i could not reason what was left to see tomarrow icy hands i felt thier grip as my my heart did slow to a soft thumping drip and in that moment before my rest i found the thing that broke my jest a spark of light so dim it shone how was i suppose to know please dear god dont let me go oh dear god i did not know it seemed so bleak the place i was in i could not see the hope with in my eyes shut tight and hear my breath slow the reaper is telling me its time to go the spark i found was close enough i reached for it though inky back junk the reaper was pulling but i did not go i watched him smile as he began to slow the spark had grown and now i could see the face of my son watching me my heart began to race like a bird taking flight death would not find me on this awful night with a flutter and a heave i returned my bottle onto the floor and took a slow breath and then a couple more i had found my light my one saving grace never again could i visit this place my eyes were blurred but i could finally see hope is not given as presents might be its earned through trouble and strife that others cant see so fight when you can to make darkness receed and remember the the moment when you succeed Roleby Colvin [comments] => 0 [counter] => 228 [topic] => 13 [informant] => roleby [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )
