Cast in a deep black blindness
Ever waiting for another beautiful spark
Even opened your eyes, all there is,darkness
But along blew something fiery and hot
Desperate longing eyes, only thing you sought
Let it dance over the cold damp wick
The flame slowly grew and the oil it did pick
The flame so bright and clear
Showing off to the closest person near
But all flames have their moment of doubt
Where everything seems like its going to go out
But you protected the flame through self sacrifice
If needed, you'd readily present your own life
The flame grew and craved more and more
Warming you deep to your darkened core
You tried to kindle the flame again
You tried to help but sadly then
The flame jumped and your heart grew hot
Suddenly sad at what you had brought
The flame grew once more, grabbing at life
Knowing now the cause of all your strife
The fire once brought happiness and made you warm
Now seems to do the opposite, bring you harm. [comments] => 0 [counter] => 166 [topic] => 24 [informant] => amicus [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LoveRemembered )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
