Array ( [sid] => 140540 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Another Night [time] => 2008-02-22 11:03:34 [hometext] => I wrote this poem in 2001 soon after my dad passed away - he was my confidante, and I didn't know where else to turn - Let me know what ya think - Thanks! [bodytext] => ANOTHER NIGHT
Though the moon beams, the stars are shining bright
And my lamp's burning, I still can't see the light!
The radio is playing every happy song it can play
But, yet, I can't find a smile through the tears in the way!

My heart sinks lower as I try to think of vibrant, content thoughts that are real
And my mind keeps replaying memories that I've fought so hard to conceal!
Wandering around the house, trying to find something to do
However, no matter what, I can't seem to focus away from the reality coming true!

Hearing people talk about their problems and what their life is like,
Still doesn't help me get past my loneliness tonight!
Reading a book, and trying to imagine myself as the main star on stage,
Yet, the characters' love and happiness seems an eternity away!

Glaring up at the moon, praying to see some hope,
But, all I see is the glow making horroring shadows!
Lighting up a cigarette, thinking it will take down this wall
Recalling that I don't remember when it even became nightfall!

Walking like a zombie, I lie down to sleep for awhile
But the creeping shadows and sounds keep me up for another night!

it's hard to lose some one, and harder to accept your loss.

I like what you've done here in places but think the end was a bit too abrupt.

Good stuff though
