Renovation

So, here we are
once again…
trying to act like lovers
behaving like we’re barely friends
and I know ~
I know, we can’t go on like this
though somewhere in the darkness
a memory exists

of our first kiss
or tender touch
that one we’d both been longing for
so much
that slipped away
fell into disarray
and the rubble cannot recreate the past
when the future always seems to come
too fast

and, here we are
once again…
trying to get over
all those “I remember whens”
and I know ~
I know, we can’t go on like this
but somewhere down the road
we’re likely going to reminisce

on that first kiss
or tender touch
the one we’d both been longing for
so much
that slipped away
fell into disarray
and the rubble could not recreate the past
when the future always seemed to come
so fast

yesterday is a memory
tomorrow is out of our hands
and life is just what happens
while God laughs at all our plans

and…

our first kiss
or awkward touch
that one we’d both been longing for
so much
that slipped away
fell into disarray
and while the rubble cannot recreate the past
it can be filled with memories
it can be filled with memories
it can be full of pleasant memories...

that last

Naz,

I love the way you interrelate the past, present and future in this song...at least I read it as a song. The title is so well suited to this piece. It seems a clever way to deal with memories. Your versatility of talent never ceases to amaze me. Actually part way through I was more like singing then talking, a real tribute to your work, I think.

An exceptional work of artistry my friend

Will/Terry

My Dear Sweet Nazzy,

I took me some time to revisit this piece and try and come up with an appropriate comment. As I have told you, this is a beautifully written well thought out piece.

The memories are beautiful from that first kiss to the birth of our daughter and many that have passed since then. My only hope, my dream ... is that we continue to create many more beautiful memories together. I have faith in you ... and I have faith in us.

I Love You

~Shannon
