Do you runaway??

Topic: Grief

Saying goodbye is not easy,
You can't get their face out of your head,
Every day you long to be together again, yet you know that is impossible.

I've sat out in the rain and cried to the sky just asking why, but i never get the answer,
No matter how much you cry the pain doesn't go,
No matter how much you try to forget you can't.

Going over every memory again and again,
Reliving each precious moment,
Your're heart aches with the pain.

I've tried to run away and hide from this pain,
I've tried to push out every memory from my head,
I've everything to forget, to numb the pain.

For along time i didn't look at a single picture,or read a single letter or message,
It just hurt to much.

I avoided any conversation where i had to say how i felt,
I never spoke about it at all,
I just cried behind locked doors.

I become cold and unemotional,
Living life for no real reason,
Days passed into weeks, and weeks into months.

Then a famiular song came on to the radio,
I broke down, my shell i had spent months building up had cracked,
What had i done.

I looked at the pictures, read the letters and messages and cried,
I felt guilty for trying to shut it out, for trying to forget it,
I felt we were together again.

I still find every day hard,
But i've learn't not to shut out my past,
I've got to learned that i should not live dwelling in the past, but not forgetting it either.

Your past is what makes you the person you are today so embrace it and don't runaway!!

Wonderful lesson learnt...only once we have dealt with our past, do we have room for others in our hearts again. Good luck!

Very true, and much like I'm feeling now. But I do realize that what we experience makes us grow....so even the pain is "good" in some ways.

Glad you aren't running away :)
