Deliver Me
A rose colored life,
Now surrounded by shades of gray
Peace over-run by twisted emotions
I fear to name
Desolate darkness replacing sunshiny days
Each hollow breath trapped
At the utterance of your name
Crying in the darkness afraid
… No one
Or is it
… Someone
Will hear…
Arms reaching out for what once was
Scattered pieces in the air
Hopes of catching one small shred
Of the love that we once shared
Although my heart lies broken
Love for you still there
Uncertainty leaves a hollow space
Emptiness unshared
With outstretched wings I’ll take a chance
I’ll find the strength inside
To take this leap of faith
Today I’ll learn to fly

Shannon, this was wonderful writing. There is so much in the
unknown that both frightens and excites us and it is courageous
to take a step forward when we know not what we'll find.
I think you are growing as a poet and have leared to tap
into the depth of emotion that so many just sift through. Yours
is a fountain! I find this to be a simply beautiful piece of honesty
and quite frankly .. emotionally brave.
Kudos!!

Sweetie... I am so glad you posted this. Writing can be so theraputic, and I truly hope that this has been helping you.
I think you have a wonderful talent, I wish it would come out more, though obviously not in such circumstances as these.
I love how hopeful this poem becomes nearer to the end, I think it's great that you can hold on to that, and still have it. Even though there is pain, and darkness, you still have that light.
On a more basic note, I like the little respite in the middle, too. Those four lines make the poem really work.
Well done hun.
Loves yas!
