Don’t we love to be the lover
and the rejected soul as well?
in the loneliness of the heart,
sometimes misery makes it swell

We do so love to do the touching
and be in turn so graced,
yet the memory of the contact
is too easily erased

The heart knows the ecstasy of
love, and grief’s epiphany,
and the pleasures of the moment
only rivalled by the wait;
the maestro and the instrument
in harmony is life content,
but discord has its sweetness, bitter
as it tumbles over strings

We do so hate to be unnoticed
and fear it to our shame;
the heavy heart at least is full
and keeps us in the game

Oh, I love to be the lover,
but the rejected soul will do. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 294 [topic] => 2 [informant] => spike [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 20 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

S, oh my, what a terribly sad last line.

There is such a sweet flow to this and yeah, I guess I MUST agree
with you on the content. What we humans will put ourselves
through, but oh how GLORIOUS it is to feel, no? What would we
do, really, if we had not emotions to make us feel alive?

Gimmie it all !!! I'll withstand the cold just for a small fraction of
the warmth. Your last two lines remind me of that everso profound
wisdom .. 'better to have love and lost ...blah blah blah' ..lol

You got it going on, spike!! :)

~Breezy
