The raucous birds are registering in their leafy hotel
Yet the morning seems cold and gray despite the sun
Because I am just dying here, in my own special hell

Never realized all of the crap that makes a new day
Just as I had never expected to be where I am now
Light's warped and sound's muted in a distorted way
Emphasizing what passes for alive as blue will allow

You may not expect it from just looking at me here
And likely you wouldn't guess from listening to me
But I am not living any more as it might appear
I'm simply existing, just putting in time you see

Now you may wonder and ask why I claim this is so
And though I seem hesitant, I will eventually speak
I'll tell all about this and that just so you'll know
That despite what you see, I'm just an idiotic freak

What??? No way! might be your protesting exclaim
But I can assure you that it's all true, of what I say
None but an idiotic freak would be so stupid and lame
You must understand I turned gold into lead yesterday

I had it all...my future was full of dreams, joy and trust
But oh no, that wouldn't do at all in my little sideshow
Fear became my alchemist and made it all turn to dust
My gold, her love, changed and I had to watch her go

I must have you to know that I still love her very much
And I would change everything to make it right again
My heart longs to be embraced with her loving touch
But I've lost her and here I've suffered so since then

Dante may have been to those nine levels of despair
I seriously doubt if he could imagine this one of mine
There is not any kind of relief to be found anywhere
And here I am waiting in hell and the only one in line [comments] => 3 [counter] => 288 [topic] => 22 [informant] => reprobate [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

Sad but really good writing.
I know the feelings but sometimes we just have to cut our losses and go on with life.
take care and please take it easy on yourself.
big huggs,
emy

my philosophy always was, when life punchs you in the face, wait till hes not looking and relieve yourself on his shoe, but hey im a dad now and i see thing slightly different these days, life can be tough, but if it wasnt the good times wouldnt seem so great, good writting, keep it up
