The passing of a swift breeze
The trickle of a waterfall
The limberness of my body
And the sorrow of a magpie’s call.
The howl of a lonely wolf
The rumble of a quake
The burning of my lungs
And the dewfall at daybreak.
The smell of polluting fumes
The glow of starry skies
The drumming of my heart
And the embers from fireflies.
The rhythm of lively music
The thumping of a nearby drum
The fracturing of my bones
And the stare of a daunting totem.
The scuttle of a prowling fox
The radiance of the moon
The smoke that fills the air
And the silence of an empty room.
The squeaking of a stairway
The creaking of a wooden door
The rolling of my tongue
And the crashing of waves upon a shore.
Are destroyed by nuclear bombs
Shot by bullets from a gun
Withheld by ruthless barbed wire
WWIII had begun.
