[hometext] => I originally wrote this about 20 years ago but have revised it. I'm not completely happy with what I have so far but would love some feedback.
[bodytext] => Worth Their Lives The cry of a million men The tons of blood they lost But they stayed and fought, sometimes in naught No matter what the cost They never stopped to question it Or asked if they could leave To them it was their duty And something they believed Many think this war is wrong And it’s much too high a cost Some complain about the money spent and angry at the lives we lost Our soldiers knew that they could die out there But they knew they could also make a change Now they stand tall and proud before us Their lives for ours they’d honorably exchange So now it's up to those of us Who live because they died Give them honor and respect Make it worth their lives [comments] => 2 [counter] => 196 [topic] => 57 [informant] => cielynne [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => war )
