In the midst of the action
Everyone was crazy.
The darkness was coming
Bringing nightmares and fear.
As the children lay down
They pull the covers up tight.
The moon brings beams of light,
That dances through the night.
The stick monsters parade
With there branches mangled and long.
The stars twinkle bringing
Hope to the night.
The clouds role in hiding, the location
Of the “monsters of the night”.
The cold wind blows through
The cracks in the windows,
Bringing back the monsters of fright.
The children begin to whimper
They are scared as can be.
The monsters of the branch
Have returned to continue the fears of the night.
As the night passes and
The monsters move on,
The children are tired and restless for school.
As the day passes the fear
Will return.
For they know soon
The monsters will be back.

Patrick
