Her loving heart and thoughtfulness, hands gently work.
She turned this spot into a kingdom, new world within this world.

Each birdhouse and water fountain purposely placed.
Food a plenty set out, corn, suet, millet, and sugared water.

Winter day in Washington, clouds covering blue surfaces,
Warmth found in the magic of this spot forget the winter chill.

Backyard a peaceful resting place, they share their place with me.
Opportunity to learn and see new birds I will soon come to know.

One can sit with a soulful calm and find a poetic justice near.
Influence by the chickadee’s , blue jays, squirrels, humming-birds, and bushtits.

Life askew this moment yet this spot sets calm in place.
Stress and uncertainty cannot fit into natures loving embrace.
