Array ( [sid] => 139818 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Left Turn Life [time] => 2008-01-15 11:14:04 [hometext] => This poem describes the road I turn on to go home and all the things i've thought about driving down this road whether it's coming from a one night stand or a drunk party [bodytext] => The ramblings of the road
As I drive back to my own home
The pieces I left behind in his bed
How sick my mind has been mislead
And it’s all in my own tainted head
My obsessive nature fixated upon one
And his thoughts begin to roll off my tongue

The ramblings of the road
Suicidal tendencies whispering cold
Lights and houses, where’s the damn overpass
Slow my pace I’m okay, no not anymore, I’m driving fast
Speeding toward the self destruction that won’t last
Swap lanes and cry because life’s so unfair
Poor thing, I can never swallow away the despair

The ramblings of the road
Light splashes the dashboard, dawn is breaking
“Never again” I slur amidst the shaking
Alone and broken is the toll of my own making
Go back and you’ll never make it out alive
Keep the headlights pointed north or die
So far gone I can’t even muster a cry

The ramblings of the road
How could I let it go this far
Adrenaline and remorse fill my lungs with tar
They took my fight, my ego and my car
Humble myself before God here at this spot
Lessons unbeknownst I must be taught

The ramblings of the road
I miss him with a love undefined
Is it regret, false, true or unrefined
Can life be misleading or is it all divine
Where should the road bend and swerve to,
Remember this has all been a fantasy of my mind

The ramblings of the road
Stretched out where the mountains flowed
The stories it can tell of my memories distantly alone
Suffocating my dreams as I drive the lonely road home

Very intense and Interesting. But how sad that the fantasy should be so heartwrenching.

How sad, I have my own curvy road I drove home. But my memories are good, happy, will sustain me in my old age when I get there. I hope you make better memories for yourself. Thats what life is about.
