Age fifty’s round the bend
And though I try to look my best
I can no more pretend
To be a youthful grandma
For on my face it shows
The wrinkles, lines and age spots
I’ve really lost my glow
And now my chin is sagging
I don’t know what to do
But looking in the mirror
It makes me feel so blue
This downhill journey started
When at forty-six years old
They took my female organs
“I’ll feel better” I was told
And as my periods ended
The real nightmare appeared
Sweaty days and sleepless nights
This was what I had feared
The doctor tried to tell me
A patch of estrogen
Would make me feel much better
Just like a long lost friend
So after months of sweating
I slapped a patch on me
And though I felt much cooler
My weight soon seemed to be
Climbing and not stopping
The pounds were packing on
And looking in the mirror
My girlish figure gone
There soon were other problems
The hormones were to blame
And though I choose to stop the patch
My weight still stayed the same
I exercise like crazy
Boy, do I really sweat
And I will lose a pound or two
Then gain them with regret
So now I’m almost fifty
My story I have told
Help me find my friend called youth

I certainly relate to everything you said, menopause sucks, however I am finished with it now, thank the Lord. Good luck in your quest to get on the show, keep me informed. I have just posted a poem in the shape of a woman, I feel like celebrating who we are and what we have to go through, for example all that you wrote about. Nice work
