Right Left Wrong

Emotions bite hard,
though not nearly as fiercely
as the emptiness, already gnawing
its way about the edges of being.

A peripheral dancer, slipping away
each time my gaze is cast
in that general direction.

Then it spins back in
to begin again, focused upon
weakening my defenses.
A renewed attack
against turned back,
such cowardice type tactics.

Oh, darkened heart of blackest hope!
You need not be seen for me
to sense your presence and
the nothingness you bring.

Damn this ache,
that bade me break
Right, away from you
,

when in truth I knew, that
Left to my own devices,
I could have run you through,
and driven you,
straight into the ground.

Right then and there, the
everywhere-I-look-that-you-are-not
would never have existed.

And the all-I’ve-come-to-know
would then have to be
the all and everything
that should have been…
Left, Right there.

Instead of…

Right
Left
wrong.

Excellent. I can say that after reading this the left right is also the march moving forward having given the reflection....so very aware of the out of step march and now in perfect step as we gain new ground.
Again Excellent write.
