THE LIFE WE LIVED!

Contributed by Robert_Edgar_Burns on Monday, 29th July 2002 @ 09:33:17 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

In the final analysis of an entire life lived, and realizing we take nothing tangible with us, a new set of values apart from the greediness of humanity should engulf us. For if we never achieve monetary success, wealth or fame, what does it matter? The only thing that really matters then is the eternal “Wealth” of consciousness, of love, friendship, and happy experiences shared with those we love. And because of you, I have become the richest man who ever lived. That I can and shall take with me into the great beyond. The only fame I ever sought was to simply share a place in your heart, where part of me would continue to survive as long as you live.

While still enjoying life, I find my true wealth in the knowledge that you love me too, and in your sweet smile. And in addition to those treasures are the added bonuses of the warmth of your hugs, the touch of your hands, and the excitement of your passionate kisses. Yes, those will indeed be memories as treasures to follow me into Eternity.

On top of all that is your incredible and awe inspiring beauty. You light up a room when you walk in, and turn heads and eyes. I have observed this with my own eyes, and I must admit that I have experienced great satisfaction and pride that it was me you were with! But it’s a good and wholesome type of pride, inflated from joy, because I know that the most precious girl in the world today, loves me. Me! Wow! The most wonderful and happy thing that has ever happened to me, is you!

More importantly is the wonderful, awesome, tender heart I have ever met. Love emanates from deep within your soul. More beautiful than words can describe, it is the source of your true eternal beauty and flows onto your outer countenance as well. The heart of My precious girl. I’ll love you into infinity because of it.

And last of all, but in no way the least, I will take with me the memory of how you first captured my attention, and mesmerized me. It was your deep, beautiful, penetrating eyes,
enticing me and pulling me into their depths like shining pools of starlight. Before that night was over, my heart no longer belonged to me, but was lost somewhere within those pools of love.

If Love could be measured in dollars and cents, then I would be the worlds first billion-trillion-zillionaire! I love you baby doll, eternally. It’s your love I shall take with me!
