Darkness has shown his head leaving
Me lonely
And alone
My pride held me back in the day
I know all those times is just a memory
In my mine
Suspended in time
As I travel down a field of pink and
White clovers
Left here to find my way over
The tracks of time...

candysears,
This is a heartrending expression; one the majority of poets have experieced at one time or another. This sense of isolation is a bummer; a bloodsucking, life-sucking, drain of our ability to hope and dream. You did a fine job selecting just the right words; not cluttering it up with pretentious expression. I could respond with a book, but will simply say, all us poets have been there, and most of us still are.
