Array ( [sid] => 139277 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => What Became of Me ? [time] => 2007-12-19 10:51:39 [hometext] => I often think about those I used to know and no longer see. I always wonder if they still remember me.It is especially poignant for me at this particular time of year when I tend to feel a bit lost and lonely [bodytext] => In this haven, this four walled dwelling, I begin to dwell
Thoughts reach back, unlock rooms of the past
Running down the halls of memory, chasing time lapsed
Wandering through wondering, revisiting old ghosts

Where are you now my first sweetheart, naive love I gave eternally
Tentative first kiss forever preserved in capsule of thought
Once each needed each like the air that we breathe
Now everything but image lost, to strange subconscious sleep

Cast further back to purest days, those long hot summers of innocence
Tainted not by burdens or realities of life
Pacts laid down, a friendship bond so resolute and true
Life willed us on a different course, she spirited you away

The old school playground filled with voice, a mirror takes me there
Am I the one with the trusting eyes, are you the one with glowing smile
I sit for a moment, pondering, the faces I see and saw
Where once existence intertwined, now scattered seeds remain

Another day fades into dust and silence leads the night
I pray that those who are here and now will not melt into yesterday
In all the minds of these who are memories now, do I exist ?
The question I cannot ask or answer, what became of me ?
