I am a student from Iceland living in Denmark so English is not my mother tong but I write allot of my poetry in English... So... here it goes... [bodytext] => The wounded...

As the heart pounds
in their frighten chest,
the wounded, withdraw
into the darkness.
Hiding from the white beating hope,
that seeks them.
In the darkness the leaf's cry,
the tree's seem to grow, (tall and dark)
and the earth is about to die.
The wounded seek
shelter beneath the tree's,
the growing dark trees.
The crying leaf's
fall towards the ground...
The air grows even more silent...

Beneath a tall dark tree,
between the tears and the dying soil
lies one of the wounded
with a broken soul. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 186 [topic] => 48 [informant] => Gribba [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

very many welcomes to this wonderful place... beautiful imagery... i can feel the pain of the wounded... especially the last stanza:

Beneath a tall dark tree,
between the tears and the dying soil
lies one of the wounded
with a broken soul.

Nice imagery. The setting and events seem to go hand in hand and lead a person from one line to the next.

Good write, keep it up..
