[time] => 2003-03-07 10:30:00 [hometext] => I wrote this in the mind of my husband,on what he would be thinking ou| on the open road all alone driving in his Semi!( By things hes told me) [bodytext] => Driving down this long open road,
trying to deliver my heavy load,
nothing to do but sit here and think,
thinking of the void in my missing link,
Is that what I want to do?
Is this worth putting my family through?
I'm just a trucker all alone,
talking to my family on the phone,
wishing they were here,
or maybe I was there,
So many cold nights I sleep,
my lonliness hits me deep,
thinking of those times I hear,"I miss you Dad!"
Those are the memories that make me sad,
talking to strangers on the CB,
when its there with you I want to be,
I know I chose this kind of life,
I'm sorry to my lovely wife,
There will be a time this will be my past,
than all of me will surely last,
Just so you know when I'm on the road all alone,
My mind is there with you at home!

well done. True to the word of the life out on the road. I never would have wanted to do it alone thats for sure. My husband did it alone for many years. We had another couple we paired up with out there alot. We would drive by the light of the moon talking back and forth about the things we were missing out on back home because we were out trucking also. Keep them coming!! 10-4

A beautifully tender poem, written with heart and weaved into words of loneliness.
I enjoyed reading this.
