Array ( [sid] => 138841 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Ignorance is Bliss [time] => 2007-11-28 11:30:48 [hometext] => Looking too much into things can get you the opposite of what you wanted, which I know from experience. This is a piece that I wrote illustrating exactly that. [bodytext] => You stand by the shore as you watch it all pass
As you gaze in your reflection, cold and confused
Your hopes, dreams and efforts, now shattered like glass
Sprawled all over the water, abandoned and used

You know I wont say sorry
And neither will the ache from our last conversation
But I cant help but feel a little alone
And I cant help but hope you'd listen

We wish on what we thought were stars
But was actually a satellite
And nothing seems to change the empty side of the bed
That greets me every night

It looks like everything is just a little out of reach
Though my eyes are open to everything around me
And I don't know if I can hear more preach
When words are used so poorly

Ignorance is bliss, Ive always heard,
And I couldn't agree more
But with love when lies are covered,
You lose track of what youre hoping for

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
