Over your death I can not grieve,
I still expect you to walk in the door,
The thought that you won’t chills my inner core.

I can’t let go of things from the past,
The hurtful memories are the ones that last,
I wish I could see your smiling face,
But the painful thoughts are so hard to erase.

I keep my grief deep inside,
I feel like a chunk of my heart has died,
It went away the day you left,
At that final moment you drew life’s last breath.

They say time can only heal,
But how do they know, or begin to feel?
A hurt so bad that it destroys you from within,
Dad when they took you they committed such sin.

It hurts to try and remember,
The pain is colder than December,
There’s a void now present in my world,
Because I was my daddy’s little girl.
