Sounds of a distant echo
Rumbling in the background

The creaking
Of rusted metal
Trying to move

Years of tears
Rain and weathered times
Solidifying every movement

The pain of watching
Behind a statue’s eyes
The muffled sounds

A desperate cry for help

A beauty

Right there in front of me
Gentle hands flow
Releasing tightened chains
That once bound me in place

Breaking free

Realizing it’s only a small joy
Which can never truly be experienced

A reminder of that hollow echo
That always lies in wait
If only….

...I could know true joy

If only I could feel…

If only I could love…

If I only…had a heart. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 280 [topic] => 25 [informant] => gurlytye [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 19 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => MiscPoems )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
