Array ( [sid] => 138702 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => To My Little Jeremiah [time] => 2007-11-22 18:13:18 [hometext] => I was inspired to write this poem after witnessing the birth of my first grandson, Jeremiah, on August 1, 2006. I have dated it Christmas 2007 as I am framing it for him as a gift this Christmas. [bodytext] => To My Little Jeremiah

You were born very early on a warm summer’s morn
Only hours before the new day would dawn.

We awaited your birth with both awe and with fear
And asked God to protect one so precious and dear.

We spoke words to encourage both you and your Mom
And prayed our Father in heaven would keep you from harm.

We asked that He also would keep you both strong
To continue a labor that seemed so very long.

Then finally your cries resounded all through the room
And heralded your arrival to the world from the womb.

Voices once muffled, must have seemed very loud
Did you recognize those of your parents so proud?

You gazed all around you, a sea of faces with smiles
You are loved by so many and so blessed a child.

I am sure life will hold such adventures for you,
And you will have lots of questions as all children do.

But for now be content in your parent’s loving arms
As they nurture and care for you, protecting you from harm.
