It was easier to tell you to say what you wanted to.
So I gave into your fingertips pressing on my thighs,
I knew it wasn't right, I wouldn't look into your eyes.

We touched and we pretended that we were someone else.
We cracked each other open, and faked all that we felt.
We collapsed on the mattress after they all fell asleep,
I'm remembering your hungry stare, and still feel your heartbeat.

I knew I was your first.
You knew you weren't my last.
The sheets danced into tangles..
It happened all too fast.

You said that you loved me, I knew it wasn't true.
I was foolish (out of breath), and baby, so were you.

You told me I was beautiful while lying on my floor.
I knew it was all over, as you shut my bedroom door.

You said that you loved me, I knew it wasn't true.
But it was late, and I could swear,
I thought I loved you, too. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 233 [topic] => 48 [informant] => meadcomposition [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 4 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

Hey baby girl :)
This is a lot better than you play it off to be.
I really love it
and it's a feeling you know I know well.
