[time] => 2007-11-17 11:31:10 [hometext] => I have a fear of wasps ever since an incident when I was a child, when I sat on one. This is just a humourous view of the situation. One day I might just understand their purpose.........perhaps [bodytext] => From summer skies they haunt my days, those silk winged terror squads
Searching out sweet sugar beacons, lured on by the scents
They plague this land for what cruel reason, will I ever know ?
To me as fitting as piercing thorns in the garden of paradise

When Summer sun tints lighter shades across the lush green lawn
And wandering bee hums mystically in cups of delicate flowers
The other drones more menacing, with whisper shocks my core
Stripe shirted traveller just the same, if only the same behaved

I remember the trauma vividly and shudder even now
Backseat victim the beast became, squashed flat against my skin
Though life had passed, the sting remained, embedded like a knife
Yet Dad refused to stop the car, my cries on deafened ears

The naturalists among us would declare it has a place
Integral piece in the grand design, a link in the natural chain
If fatal moment took them all, not a single one I'd mourn
Was Mother Nature concentrating when she created this ? Cute write. I happen to have a little allergic reaction when a wasp bites me, hee hee I haven't been bitten by one for years, thank goodness. Your write made me smile. Thanks for that.
Peace,
Laura

Excelent Writing.
I had a big red wasp sting me on the right side of my forhead on a hot summer day. For 'bout a week my eyes would sweel shut before morning.
Needless to say I'm alergic. Still I don't let um scare as now I just tell um to git away or they are dead.
Awesome work, my friend.
huggs, smiles,
emy
