Running as a child, with energy to spend
Turn around, fall down, look up at the sky
Wondering so deep in thought, if you will truly die

Running through life, not taking time to care
Running in mid-life, with no time to spare
Turn around, fall down, it's time to pause awhile
For loved ones and friends alike, and touch them with a smile

Now you've slowed down, life's at a slower pace
The end is coming soon, we can see it in your face
Turn around, fall down, look up at the sky
You're down for good, it's over with, but did you really try

I love this. I enjoy the repetition of the last two lines in each segment, but the slight variation makes it still appealing. Well done, writer.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
