Array ( [sid] => 138374 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Life [time] => 2007-11-09 09:18:54 [hometext] => Here is a background on my self, this had to be the hardest poem I've ever written............. The Phantom [bodytext] => Deep blue sea washes over me,
A meadow overgrown with flowers, a soul touched by the Lord's power,
A book that speaks truth, my life is proof,
Tears have fallen, each time the angels came calling,

Molested as a child, my uncle called me a liar,
Foster homes, taken from my family and feeling all alone,
Crying myself to sleep, lying there in fear as lice infected me,
Court case after court case, my uncle took his own life so the charges he didn't face,

Counseling appointments, joined by other kids who have been in this situation,
Told to speak on how I feel and so my anger builds,
Violent outbursts, given drugs to calm the urge,
So as I grew older, I became a loner,

Sex, drugs, statutory rape, all of thee above,
Breaking and entering, law enforcement came looking for me,
More drugs, wearing all blue, ready to kill some random dude,
Live in girl, age 16 having sex with no thoughts to protect,

So with my life going down the drain, I went to church and made a change,
I finished school and joined the Army; my mother always said it was the best thing for me,
12 years later I’ve become a man, so now I took a moment and fold my hands,

“Lord I come to you in prayer asking that you forgive me for all I done,
I ask forgiveness and that my sins to be washed away by your blood,
I started as an innocent child, and I became tainted by another’s hands,
The painful memories, the scars that never heal,
The women that raised me now sit by your side, I feel alone,
I thank you for my wife, and over all, this path we call life.”

Forever Faithful
The Phantom

I can tottally relate to this except I had my parents together untill they passed on. it was also an uncle and many years later he commited suicide.I never talked to my parents about it 'cause I was scarred to. at 50 I started having flash backs.
Yes, me-n-God had a nice long talk about why.
He didn't give me a why but he gave me a pardon because of what happened to me he assured me that my sins were pardon. Then I started letting him renew me since as I'm 61 now. I have my inner peace back and I find it all along life's way.
I know it's hard to write like this about yourself but your courage can only reap good thangs.
God bless you for sharing this.
huggs, faith, hope, jjoy, peace, luv,
emy
