A ray of light that warms my cold heart,
A heart that has been frozen,
From fear of hurt and pain.

You worn my barriers down,
With your sweet sincerity and kindness,
You left footprints in the sand,
Where others dared not to tread.

Yet we remain uncertain,
Unsure of feelings we cannot confirm,
We stand at this fork in the road,
Not knowing how it will end.

I am so scared of falling further,
So scared of making a mistake,
Yet i know that only fools rush in,
But oh, how I hate these silly guessing games!

We never know what the future holds,
So many things that cannot be ascertained,
One day the sun and moon may never rise,
The stars may never twinkle or shine.

But my feelings are genuinely real,
It is my only truth and hold,
On this topsy turvy roller coaster ride,
You have my word for that.

So just smile and stay by me,
While we take our time,
I want to stay by your side,
I want nothing more to always smile.
Your luminiscent warmth is what I need,
So just smile at me. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 230 [topic] => 2 [informant] => Crimsonflame [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 8 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

With tears freely flowing down my cheeks i finish the last line. A hopeless romantic at heart this poem was personally very appealing. The visuals cast by this artful piece leave a very humbling yet hopeful stamp on your heart. Free flowing it allows your eyes to simply flow down the page letting the words sink in without hindrance. A unique and amazing piece of work i applaud this author and give my highest rating. This is just... Astounding art.

I don't know if I got the same reaction to your poem as law_glen18, but nevertheless it is a very great work of art and is very relatable, especially to me. Uncertainty is a very big issue when it comes to relationships. Sometimes it is because you're sure what the other person wants out of the relationships, and sometimes its because you are unsure of what you want. Sometimes all you can do is be in the moment and enjoy that heartwarming smile.
