Another mile a world of pain from a home long for help and need
A child cries as her father comes home angry again
Waiting by the fire a women sits alone with her children
Stressed from living on military care as her love is in another world
Stories and problems all nations can feel
empty hearts with no hope to heal
Stains of tears cold violent views a world in turmoil so many choices to chose
Dancing in fire one foot in the hole
working every day paying our toll
Families in slum crime is in the air slumber we walk not knowing how to care
Pink eyed slumber sirens songs seems to always play
Waking every morning hating the day
City in commotion streets always full
a nation going hungry no new plan is true

We search for love empty inside such a shallow society we hinder and we hide
Open hearts is something we deny hardened by concrete we are born full of lies
We share common goals and we all know something’s wrong
Empty our voices are something I have been waiting so long
Weather floods what nothing new
The days are not the same and wont stop till we are threw
Our vote has no merit money rules the game
Stomped by corporation until we all are just the same
Cut out for by-product skin but no core
Filled with knowledge from the wal-mart store

What other choice do we have to gain?
By living this way with nothing to change
Living always a blind eye worried about number one
Not giving a hand when need out ways the sum
Step up take your mark show that we have time
To change something special to help someone in a bind
Love our fellow man as stupid they are
They have been brought up like you vicious threw time

If you can get your mind around the style of writing this poem encases a deep message that rings true in the perils of the modern global environment. Very nicely written!!!

Relic...brother, you always have wisdom to share. Unfortunate truths about our world and this society in which we now live....I try to imagine what it will be like when my children are grown, the thought scares me. I hate losing hope, but sometimes it seems that there are so many out there who literally don't care, or they don't seem to have to knowledge to care. Excellent thoughts you've penned, my friend. Thank you for sharing.
Peace and hugs,
Laura
