Through sky shafts, and cloudy lanes,
And rendered every shadow slow,
Slow to cling to earth, slower still to wane,

Silence roamed the twilight veils,
By dim streets, and voiceless shades,
I marvelled skyward at the trails,,
At the purple dusking of the day,

Till night erupted at the brink,
To darkle eyes, and light the lamps,
As day-glow slept and left no tinge
To light the climb of cloudy ramps,

I’ve met with dusk in times before,
And walked this street, this earth, in rain,
But no eyes greet me at the door,
I won’t be meeting dusk again… [comments] => 2 [counter] => 388 [topic] => 52 [informant] => zenith66 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 8 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => goodbyepoetry )

zenith, first, forgive my absence (life throws itself in my path so often these days).

Second, wow! what a revealing and emotionally tempting write. There is a veil
of mystery here that I can't escape and I am loving your descriptions!

There is something about your poetry that continually draws my breath
until the last word is read. And I am loving that.

Great post!

Dear Zenith,
I detect a certain saddness or an end
A poem filled with mystery, a different blend.
Your word "dusk" could mean so many things..........
Perhaps death, or dream with truth that rings!
Whatever Zenith..........it was marvelous! Thanks so much for sharing!
Warm love,
consue
