has it been
so incredibly long...

i should have stopped when i
had
the stopping chance
now we're gathering speed
and recklessly tumbling
gathering no moss

these arms do not comfort
they destroy
but the tears stop here
so i compromise
again

i am forever giving up
pieces of me
to be sure that i am safe
are we ever?

i think the question is
can i stay here?

maybe we can be more
together than
our tiny pieces ever were
apart

inlovewithaladd,

My most respected movie is, Awakenings. Robin Williams and Robert DeNiro have a doctor/patient relationship. There are many scenes which bring tears and sometimes sobs. The one which comes to mind after reading your poem is the one where DeNiro is going into one of his grotesque and painful fits, slipping back into the blackness he had just recently escaped. While experiencing the contortions of his fit, he shoves a video cameral into William's hands and with a desperate vigor repeats over and over; learn, learn, learn, learn, learn... A depth of heart, soul and mind is not without its price. Those who suffer the most are the ones who will be capable of the most compassion, the most understanding and the most Love. In your short life, you have reached deep into the canyons of human suffering. Your poetry exhibits a depth of spirit. Your poetry tells me you are also a seeker; one who will not submit to or entertain the likes of Naked Emperors. Life is for learning. I sense in your poetry a discontent with this world's little questions and pithy little answers. Your soul is screaming BIG QUESTIONS, and you will not settle for little answers. Pain and suffering are God's greatest teachers. This poem tells me God is teaching. Learn, learn, learn, learn, learn...

I believe you will; you are.

maybe we can be more
together than
our tiny pieces ever were
apart

...precious, delicately vulnerable, just the slightest twinkle of Hope...the spirit of the Phoenix...

I'm smiling...
