It's been known to make grown men cry
Proudly it has ventured into battles
For its ethics many soldiers will die

Common memories, hopes and traditions
Unite under resplendent stars and bars
Nationalism, patriotism and freedom
Have healed many painful scars

Ablaze in a trio of colors
Each one vibrant in their hue
A banner of cloth with deep meaning
Pay it the honor for which it is due

Brilliant crimson speaks of courage and determination
Of justice, integrity and resolve
The life of the American citizen
Around these qualities do revolve

Snowy white whispers hope for the future
Of opportunities, dreams and peace
Countless immigrants flock to this land
Seeking this type of release

Noble blue shouts loyalty for all to hear
Of faith, eternity and devotion
The sight of the flag in troubled times
Brings on waves of strong emotion

Blood, sweat and tears have been shed for its purpose
Americans, hold your heads up proud
Pay homage to our flag and its virtues
And pledge your allegiance out loud.

Wow, your poem touched me. It unleashed the pride in having our most sacred possession. Our American Flag...
