If life fall apart at the seams and no one is around to listen, does it matter at all?
If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to see it, does it actually fall?
If you are left on your own and you make a wrong turn will you be found?

As you travel through life, and you sing a sweet song
You’ll trip on the road less traveled and reach out for a hand
When you need it the most face down in the road you’ll land
You’ll be silenced when no one listens as you travel along

If you are out playing ball and a pass is thrown your way
You know no one will be around to help you catch it
But you fumble and right into your face it will hit
And you’ll be left on the ground for the rest of the day

When you are trapped and no one seems to detect
You are left to dwell on your own mistakes
And no one will be there as your heart aches
You’ll be left there with no self respect

You are calling out and drowning in your own self doubt
But you will soon find then that no one will listen
But you know that there’s not too much you’re missin’
Then you’ll realize that there is no way out

You’ve been silenced so long it’s starting to hurt
You’re trying to speak now just to let it all out
Nothing you can do now feeling lower than dirt
But there’s no one to listen to your muffled shout

It’s okay though you can still sing out strong
On your own and alone but not subsided
Your attention’s your own and undivided
You fingers sing that wonderful song

The song no one will hear it will ring through your ears
The lyrics will flow from your finger tips as words on a page
You’ll sing those new lyrics of pain, sorrow, and rage
Making it loud and clear so no one can hear

When you have no where to turn and you are all on your own
You can’t devote time to your problems or your personal life
You deal with others to soothe their struggles and strife
But when you need them the most you’ll be left all alone

I’ll be here for you and your problems alike
To pick you up when you fall off your bike
I’ll look for you, and be there in the day
I’ll catch the ball and make sure you’re okay
Because to listen and understand is a quality you lack
But I’ll be there for you so you’ll never have to look back

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
