cold strawberries and warm icing,
against our teeth.

We told stories and jokes...
and from the mouths of friends,
came laughter.

All sitting in the hottub...
the smell of strong chemicals,
in our noses.

We sang along to the music...
of the guitar players,
as one voice.

Laying outside in the dark...
sounds of crunching snow,
and cars on the nearby highway.

We watched the stars...
each one resembles a memory,
never forgotten.

Wasn’t even cold out...
but we could still see our breath,
as we exhaled.

Hot chocolate against our hands...
to warm our body,
head to toe.

And in the morning...
footprints in the snow,
of our memories.

Sounds like a great time, Jas Trask!
This is a great poem with nice imagery.
Hope you have many more times like this, friend.
I sure would love to feel alive.
More often than not, I feel like a zombie or some automaton made especially for the purpose of torturing me by giving me an 8:30 math class and providing me with no parking spaces on the days when I start later...
Blah! Anyway, nice write! Keep up the good work!
