Which leads to twenty of torment, issues and noise
Followed by the opting of our own special disease
Choices unsure, our illness beats us to our knees

Tortures of growth allow life's perennial sadness
And so we wallow in our own specific madness
The point of it all escapes our deepest reasons
Staring from the grave, we endure the seasons

Our sicknesses overwhelm us without any cures
Demons of our failures pick at the festering sores
Beaten, battered, our childish dreams shattered
Choking on funereal dirt, wondering if it mattered

Searching for someone, something to define our pain
Adopting simple symbols for things we can't explain
Our agony continues when answers are never found
Jaded faith, hopelessness escort us into the ground

Crawling through the everyday's poisonous abuse
No longer do any of the toys or the dreams amuse
In a fetal curl, we cringe, cry and shout at the sky
Oh, please, please...won't you just tell me why [comments] => 2 [counter] => 213 [topic] => 75 [informant] => reprobate [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => anguished )

Michael,
A tremendously heart-felt piece of poetry. I loved the read, but really enjoyed when you read it to me. You should do those audio-blogs with your poetry when you get "connected" again. (you know I love your voice)
So many things we've talked about and shared, and I see you've been listening just as well as I thought you were. *smiles* I totally value our friendship you really are a treasure to me. *hugs you tight*
Thank you for penning this and sharing.
Much peace,
Laura
