we will sing
we will lift our voices to the clouds
until the heavens ring
while dignitaries dictate
and mindless beings cooperate
you and I will celebrate
and not give them the satisfaction of watching us deliberate
you just watch, they'll hate
as they see the jubilation on our face
just think common folks changing the fate
putting all the wrongs into place
enclosing hatred in it's proper tomb
we plant dreams and watch miracles bloom

--------------------------------------------

While the battle is in bloom
only screams and ka-booms
venture into my ears
the only sound that looms
I search for the memory of your voice
checking all the rooms

That held my thoughts
but the gun fire brought
with it the lessons taught
when these wars are fought

I lost five brothers just the day before last
wrote to all their mothers and wifes expressing the pass
told them about their brave solider
and how he loved to laugh
soon that very telegram could come by your path

Sweetie although I am on the other side of the world
I see you in every breeze
and while miserable in these sand storms
I visit Jesus on my knees
and ask to bring me back to you, please...

A soldier's duty is never done
so I'll fight until this battle is won
or until they say I can put down my gun
and head back home to to my lovely wife and son [comments] => 1 [counter] => 175 [topic] => 57 [informant] => allidoiswrite82 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => war )

Thank you for sharing this very touching write. With the world at such woe and war we can all do to share our prayers, our cry of dispair and our hope that soon we will stop losing our loved ones and learn to settle matters in peace. Very well done and a subject close to so many hearts in every hour as we wait.
