An integral part of us
that is captured within our verse,
a window into our soul...
Insight

Reflections rebounding off ideas,
or creative hunches,
positioning themselves for expression.
Like a potter at his wheel,
shaping and forming each work...
The Wordsmith

Somehow, sometimes, an inspiration occurs
and a poem is born.
Launched, like a rocket exploding into space.
Perhaps a clever rhyme
or a meaningful line,
that which gives the poem substance and form...
Personality

It matters whether it seems well written,
for it conveys messages that are often hidden.
Yet the ultimate task, it seems,
are the times we write
with the goal in sight as we strive for...
Validation

A lack of restriction and freedom is felt,
like a winged bird in flight.
Whether we feel sad, happy or tearful,
as a poem touches our heart,
we gain a sense of connection from the start...
Expression

A friendship expressed worth sharing emerges,
like a kinship among peers.
A bond of caring
and something you say,
may be of help some day...

Wow, Will...this was just an exceptional write and read. I was reading and saying yes, yes, that's how it us. You have captured the poet so well. I really liked how you ended each stanza with the final word singled out and bold. Great write, my friend. Thank you for sharing.
Peace and hugs,
Laura

Damn Wil, this was fine writing! Very fine writing indeed.
You have captured some thoughts here, I think many would
find enchanting and true. The heart and soul of a poet is such a
complex and beautiful enigma, you know? Kudos for spreading
a little of what makes the poet tick, so eloquently.

I think you captured it perfectly in your very first line.
Great work, my friend. Always a joy to visit your page ...
