Challenge And Response

Topic: MiscPoems

Blessed are those who are born very strong and healthy,
Some, less fortunate, are born with physical deformity.
Some get hurt and disabled in the course of life’s journey,
To those physically challenged life is a struggle and misery.

Challenge is the ‘ignition key’ to rev up our driving force,
For sustained growth and to propel us in our onward course.
From ‘yin’ to the state of ‘yang’ challenge gets you changed,
Sans challenge, things remain dormant and totally unchanged.

God compensated the disabled for the loss of their faculty,
Providing remarkable sense of perception to perform deftly.
Those, who discovered their potential and worked very hard,
Succeeded in realising their goal; to their efforts a great reward.

Milton lost his ‘paradise’ in life, when he had lost his eye sight,
Undeterred he ‘regained’ his self; wrote poems with great insight.
Totally disabled Helen Keller unknown she might’ve remained,
But for her courage to brave challenges; lasting fame she attained.

The impaired hearing didn’t discourage the great Beethoven;
His brilliant compositions make us feel in the seventh heaven.
The list is endless; made their mark, the disabled countless,
Their success inspired other physically challenged, doubtless.

And let the world know, your disability is not a hindrance;
Courage and confidence as crutches and enduring patience,
Reach your goal and stand out great amongst the mankind;
Ability to achieve lies not in one’s body but in one’s mind.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
