Lough Deirg on a misty night...

The little bow is creaking now,
And Deirg is a misty blanket,
Tumbling sheets of august fog
Descend from darkened peaks above,
And there many houses strewn
With the pale light from a moon,
Who’s gaze falls kindly on our little ferry,
The flasks we brought are empty now, we ate our fill,
And we’re lolling towards the birth without a sound,
Now, thrown in wavy shimmers
O’er the placid lake and growing ever dimmer,
The straggling lights from lakeside houses far behind,
Cold and wet but happy, we reach the little sleeping wharf,
The fog around has lifted and ten feet potter off,
Oh peaceful!, far behind we leave it in our wake,
Deirg unstirring, a black and windless lake…

I loved the sound of it. It could almost have been under Nature Writes, for I felt so much of it when reading the write. It sounded wonderful and made me long to be there with you. At least I get to go there through your words. Thank you for sharing.
Peace and hugs,
Laura |

zenith, will you write something new already!!! ?? lol
(j/k)
Until you do I am forced to swim through your back log of poetry (which is
not a bad thing by ANY means! ) This I found to be so intriguing. There is
an ominous feeling to some of the words you used, but like Laura, I was
wishing to be there with you all, witnessing the beauty of Mother Nature.
Picturesque and so damn affecting! Wonderful post, poet!!
