Seen Love
Roseanne
July 29, 2007

I’ve seen love at its stupidest.
I’ve seen love wielding a knife.
I’ve seen love at its most worst.
Most see love as a no argument happy ending no holds bar type of emotion.
To see love as I’ve seen it is to know what fear truly is, a type of fear that numbs you; brings a false sense of calmness and detachment before you find yourself a quivering mass of raw nerves.
A knife pressed to the throat of a claimed love.
A blade pressed against the swell of life where an innocent rests in oblivious hibernation.
I’ve seen the love of an attempted murderer.
Seen love with a figment of remorse and tears of regret.
Love is a double edge sword, both sharp, both can bleed; both can either give life or take life.
Love that sends false hope, a better future, a false sense of security.
Love can be true and righteous to the eyes of the innocent.
I’ve seen love, love through unveiled eyes, eyes that witnessed that devilry of that feared love, an obsessed love, a love not afraid to kill, a love afraid of loss – a distraught loss that brought forth a prison sentence and a mar of ones soul.
A guilty love caught on hidden video, a love covering the hands with blood of an innocent mother and unborn child.
Have you seen love for I have.

Very Dark view of love. The despair comes through. Really a good read and interesting poem.
