How much more weight do you think could go on these
squared off shoulders?
Bucking bales in the hot summer shine
I was young, my back was good and sturdy
~Mom said I looked like a boy from behind~
Obviously karma thinks they can hold up
Some days I am not so sure
Some days I don't feel the same as the others
Some days I feel weakened by this life

I am supposed to be rugged and strong
My duty was to help others
Nursing was my life; and now...
Now it is too much to bear
The idiocy of the whole governmental game
My spine has dried in this hot withering sun
Some days I feel as though I'll turn to ash
Some days I secretly wish for you
Some days I wanna take flight so far from here

What has happened along the way?
So much death
So much mind destruction
Four were gone forever in this life
in just nine short years of a fading light
It is lonely losing so much
Some days I want to scream so loud
Some days I lay with head covered
Some days I want to die

Be strong and fight
That is the thing to do
My heart knows what is right and wrong
It's just the weight gets so damn heavy
I am tired of carrying this on my own
Sometimes there feels a need to shed you
Some days I know not what to think
Some days I cry but tears no longer fall
Some days I remember and I just smile...

I hear ya sis.
Isn't amazing what comes out when we vent.
I know it certainly comes out a beautifull way when it's written on paper.
Vent on.
huggs, smiles, faith, hope, strength, joy, peace,
emy

i agree with emy..venting can produce such amazing things on paper...this write is a fantastic example. nicely done. loved it...i think alot of ppl can relate to this as well...just reading the title drug me in..."some days.." ..then you describe so many feelings and emotions through the poem...but don't worry...i've learned that we are not alone..we don't have to carry it all ourselves...there are ppl out there who really do care...i think alot of it is that we just choose to do it alone.. we are too...scared to let others in...because we think we're different for feeling this way...but we aren't...there are so many others just like you. amazing write...
