As the mist lifts, the sunshine and fresh air feel just fine,
Cleansing form I enter life "enlightened," eyes now shine.
I envy not the phoenix in my rising, dusting off the pain.
Envy not the thirst of soils around me recieving the rain.

Breathing again and strong, I will stand against the warriors of hearts.
The conquest of my emotional banks has left me strength in all new starts.
I will not render soul a tender moment of self doubt to enter my days.
For my lessons now behind again, the message reads "Pain Pays."

The bruising of internal parts have disappeared, as I recognise ,
All was self inflicted, for I submitted to this compromise.
Never again to think me less than grand.
I stand here Godess of my ego, now in her command!

Holy CRAP nd!!!!! and WOW!!! That last line is beautifully
S H A T T E R I N G !!!! This picture is entirely fabulous
and so is this piece! This is (in my humbled opinion) some of
your finest work, hun! WOW! Incredible what a dose of ego
does for you, huh? lol It takes a great woman to admit her
involvement in her own demise ... and an even greater
one to do something about it!

There is power here and an enlightenment that cannot
and SHOULD not be ignored! And all done with such a
perfect poetic flare. LOVE this, (in case you couldn't
tell lol )Your words choices are outstanding!!

Bravo poet! Bravo!!

~Breezy

Stylistically and artistically a fine piece of work, and the subject is artfully rendered. I just wish I could agree with it. Ego is a wall; without vulnerability we are not able to expand - even the moderate expansion of a strong ego is not enough, in the long run, for our huge souls. So I've been learning, over the years.

As long as someone's ego doesn't get the best of them...*smiles* I totally get your drift here. Sometimes one has to think of "one's" self and to heck with the rest...really, sometimes that is just the healthy thing to do. I commend you on your strength...slip me a little would you, sister? Great write.
Much peace, love and hugs,
Little Sis

AMAZING! I love this..the last line just echos on and on in my mind.." I stand here Godess of my ego, now in HER comand!" brilliant piece of work. thank you for posting it. stay strong and hang onto that ego..your life, your body, your mind, your heart, and your soul..stay forever in controle... for they are yours and noone elses..i've been hurt..beaten and destroyed..but i also realize how i did it to myself..i let it in..and kept letting it in..still let it in alot...if i was at a convention and heard this read aloud i would give you a standing ovation...so for internet humor purposes..*stands and claps*.. lol.

Yes,Needle, without strong self-esteem we are far too vulnerable. We don't want to be a closed shop, but we ain't gonna be suckers either. As long as a strong ego doesn't manifest into arrogance,it'll do us proud.
I love the strength in this poem, the construction and the wording,In fact,it is a damn fine piece of work,

Den

A trume human peice of noblility humble in it's honesty, you allowed your self an entitlement of love, and rightly so and much deserved.
