[bodytext] => What can one do
They try
They tell
They give
Is this NOT enough to have, or make known for being a friend

Guess it was not
Guess it never will be
Guess it can't hold
Nor keep it be

I have thy heart
Which gave more
Which did more
Which could explain
Which never was given a chance

So now.....
Who is really to blame
It takes two to do all
All with out another......

BECOMES NOTHING

being a friend is total wholeness, not just one giving or taking...it works both ways

i felt a lot of power in your words. the italics actually emphasized it i think, almost as if it were a persons thoughts that were too "bad" to say aloud. i think the lack of punctuation was a bit distracting though it sort of made the lines run together and confusing jumbles at time, whereas with periods, the statements would be more powerful and succinct. the power of the poem changed considerably as it was getting on towards the end by seeming to lack the forcefulness the earlier lines had.

Dayna, sweetie, this is so powerful. There is much wisdom
in your words, hun. But I sense some troubling sadness as
well. The benefits and luxuries of having and being a friend
is felt most acutely, when there is mutual giving and receiving.

Well said, my dear friend. Beautiful, as is your lovely heart. :)

*hugs*

~Breezy
(hoping all is well)

Very strong write Dayna...you could feel your heart beating in each line. I love how you penned this.
Wise words indeed.
Much peace,
Laura

GHOST ALARM DOWN! GHOST ALARM DOWN! We are distracted at this moment. Usually the Ghost Alarms do everything in unison, however one of us has fallen down by himself. We all (minus the one), simultaneously put on our red masks of anger and stare at the fallen Ghost Alarm. The one tries to explain, which angers us more, so we simultaneously remove our red masks of anger and put on our brighter red masks of (you've got to be kidding us), anger. This Ghost Alarm does not seem to understand; let me correct that, the one, for he is no longer a Ghost Alarm. We then, simultaneously remove our red robes and replace them with black cloaks and drop white wigs on our heads. We then pull our judges gavels out of the drawers from our desks, and toss the "one" in the centre of our circle. He must stand trial. He has been charged with the crime of acting on his own. He tries to plead with us, explaining that if he had pulled at us, we would have ALL fallen down. Another Ghost Alarm drops his gavel. We turn to him simultaneously, and then point to the circle. Two Ghost Alarms, now removed. Another Ghost Alarm with apparent hidden jealously in his heart, points and laughs at the two in the circle. We toss him in the centre. Three Ghost Alarms, now removed. Another Ghost Alarm throws a tantrum, screaming, "what is this chaos before me?" A gasp, simultaneously comes from each Ghost Alarm, including the three who had been outted. He has committed the deepest crime, by referring to himself, as "me". The other Ghost Alarms decide to join in as we toss marbles at Mr. Me. Mr. Me then becomes furious and says "I quit!" storming towards the exit door. We then all applaud, and he turns and takes a bow. The act is over. This demonstration has proven your point. "All with out another..... Becomes Nothing". Yes you are correct. We are many and without each, we are less. Another Ghost Alarms experimental success! There is no such thing as Mr. Me. He is and has always been a Ghost Alarm. Once a Ghost Alarm always a Ghost Alarm. And finally, in a sense we are like the Three Muskateers; Many for many and many for many. And that is many, for we are many.

May the monsters in your closet mate over night, giving you the company of plenty of frights ..... The Ghost Alarms.

How much time does someone have to wait Brew, time waits for no man or woman.

You can write as many words as you like but actions will always speak louder. Actions, not hiding behind words and silence.

Like all relationships friendships have to be worked at, you simply can't expect to be friends without trust and respect between people and those bridges taking time to build and repair.

Are you prepared to try, I think not.
