That everything’s just waiting for a moment to a moment, yeah
And back awhile, long moments ago, you clenched my heart you stole my soul
Then I took it back, cause I couldn’t lack its comfortable sorrow
If bridges weren’t for jumping, why’d they build them so high?
If love wasn’t for breaking, you better find me a reason why, you better find me reason why

Wolf, he plays teenage boy, packs his bags, moves back to Troy
Acts like he’d never left till he gets to the walls he trashed and split
And plays miniature golf with a silver club, bashes plastic monsters, collects ticket stubs
Wins his key chain in the window stain then crawls back to his car

Phantom girl she is far behind, her bodies both the bread and wine
He’d once drink to pronounce himself full, sent out to kill, have your fill
Do you remember tragedy? Old stale romances majesty? Honey I think I do
Could we call that through? Between the dark of summer carnivals and sparkling light of winter funerals, there’s something called me and you

He remembers back when this was home, it was once full, he’s now alone
There are no friendly faces, just dirty pools and untrimmed mazes
Memories ago he took the toll, she was pregnant he was sold,
Not the father, just a winner, out to risk what he could not control
Three months later, a clinic visit pass, do fire’s want us to see the ash?

There is a picture on his bedroom wall; it gives him the same feeling it did last fall
That there are permanents, something never changes
Except this time there’s a crack across it’s side, taped over, made to hide
And there are no more reasons now, he’s got to find home somehow

In ballroom dances, marble tombs, it’s fair to say we fall too soon
That everything’s just waiting for a moment to a moment, yeah
And not too very long ago, you clenched my heart you stole my soul
Then I left it up for grabs, because I couldn’t stand the comfortable sorrow
If eyes weren’t for tears, why did they make them so we’d cry?
If love wasn’t for breaking, you better find me a reason why, you better find me a reason why

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
