Tributes

They will come.
Lovelorn and dusty brained –
their feathers bent,
their eyes wide…
carried forth in the arms
of a inescapable melody;
wanting so to fly.
They will come
quivering and quiet -
like moths to a flame,
drawn by the light,
warmed by the same.
One by one
falling to the earth
before him;
exigent and
in awe.
Yes…
when he calls them-
they will come
bearing the burden
of tomorrow’s memories,
never to be the same.
And there,
with the lot of them
- forever -
he shall remain.

This has a very magnificent feel to it. It strikes out with a sort of importance. |

Oh my my my! Snems ... this is amazing to me, if only for the mystery found within the words.
There is also a kind of soft magic floating inside every line. I cannot pretend to know who
it is you speak of, and are giving tribute to, but I like that you have done so in such a
beautifully poetic way. (Gives us greedy readers the chance to bask in the glory of it)
gosh .. I know I mentioned magic earlier .. but wow. I just re-read this and it bears
mentioning again. It really has a magical feel to it that I adore.
This may not be as intended, but this reader found a soft and quite familiar solace
in here. I am comfortable enough to curl up and fall asleep right here between the
words ...
perfectly written, as always ~
*hugs*
